Gearing up for Icecrown Citadel
By Uncleleo | December 14, 2009
This weekend was a fun one, as with the last patch lots of running heroics and collecting as many badges as possible. The difference? You now get two extra triumphs for every Random heroic done. Wow. With this in place even as a casual player there’s no reason not to be in level 232 gear in a month or so.
While everyone’s eyes were so intently focused on Arthas and ICC, I was quietly doing my heroics and decided I needed a break so I pugged ToC25 for the weekly raid quest. When I got in I noticed that there were only two Rogues in the group. Awesome I only have to roll against one other toon. He whispers me to let me know he doesn’t need any gear from here and that whatever drops is all mine. We did some chatting back and forth about different things going on with the new patch before the raid started.
-One Shotted Beasts – No Rogue Drop
-One Shotted Jaxx – Cuirass of Calamitous Fate
-One Shotted Faction Champs – Treads of the Icewalker
-One Shotted Twins – No Rogue Drop
-Wiped a ton on Anub before calling it very early Sunday morning. It was strange after one shotting every thing else to have so much trouble on the final boss. The DPS seemed to be lacking as the closest we could get was 1 Million health at Enrage time. And the Shammies seemed to be Heroism happy as multiple times someone popped it while we were doing a ready check for Anub. Each time we’d have to wait four to five minutes before pulling.
As if those two 245 peices weren’t enough for me. Pugged an Ony25 group with NO other Rogues. Picked up the helm, Bloodfang Hood, which is awesome looking.
With those and the five peices of 232 gear I picked up from The Frozen Halls this past week (2 daggers, thrown weapon, neck and bracers) I am riding an in-game high like never before.
All in all a hell of a weekend for gear and it should help me in getting in some ICC pugs and get going on the new content and gear.
